TEACHER SCHEDULE
I will be continuing with a 4 day week, likely until the end of the year. Mr. Pearse will be working with Division 5 on Fridays and focusing on: Math (basic facts), Poetry, PE, Journal Writing and STEM projects (SCIENCE TECHNOLOGY ENGINEERING MATHEMATICS). This means that students will see an adjustment to their PE period from Monday to Friday.
NEW AREAS of STUDY
Social Studies: Immigration. Students will be looking at the push/pull factors, Canada's development as a multicultural nation and investigating their own family's history.
Science: Body Systems. Students will be exploring the different systems and completing a research report for one of them. Before spring break we will also be talking about puberty and its connection to body science. Before those lessons, I will send out some resources to parents.
Math: Graphing and Data Analysis. Students will be collecting, presenting and reviewing data critically.
Language: Maniac Magee (Class Novel), Public Speaking, Persuasive writing
