December 5

REPORT CARDS

Report Cards will be sent home during the last week before winter break.  Within the report envelopes there will be a student reflection document as well as some other enclosures for some students.  On reflection, I have been very impressed by the collective efforts and growth within the group.  I look forward to what lies ahead in the new year.

MATH

Student have begun a new unit on probability and data analysis.  This has allowed us to look at odds, fractions and percentages.  We have also enjoyed many games of chance.  With the proliferation of gambling advertisement,  this may be a good time to talk about limit and boundaries.  We have discussed the fun that can be associated with such activity but also the importance of moderation.   You can see some photos below featuring students engaged in an EVEN/ODDS dice rolling tournament.  Please ask you child to explain the game.
