WEATHER CONDITIONS

As expected, our weather has taken a turn over the last week.  Thank you for sending your children  prepared for the conditions. Jackets, boots, indoor shoes and umbrellas are going to be essential equipment for the next few months as students go outside for each recess and lunch session.

LONG DIVISION REVIEW

This week students were engaged with long division.  We have been reviewing the concept of dividing things evenly and with remainders.  There has been time for independent practice and sharing with partners.  This work will continue next week as we try to get all students more comfortable with the concepts and step associated with long division.

NOVEL STUDIES DUE MONDAY

Students have been working on a novel study over the last month based on new book of their choosing.  They are providing an overview of the story elements (plot, setting, conflict, climax/conclusion, characters) along with a review for their book.  Please check in with your child about their novel study and have them share what they know.

GREY CUP FESTIVAL FIELD TRIP

Our class was one of many from Elsie Roy that ventured down to the Grey Cup Festival on November14th to take in a variety of sights, sounds and activities.  It was a great experience where students all received free promotional items including a B.C. Lions T-shirt.  Special thanks to our parent volunteers who attended so that we could make this happen:  Mr. Hatty, Mr. Peresda, Ms. Liu, Ms. Tanveer and Ms. Van Gvozdanovic.  You can find some candid moments below.
